Easy Beach’s New Single Will Get You Stuck In Your Head
Those Beach Boys are back at it with another heater – this time with the last single before their project “Elliott Spliff”.
““Elliott Spliff'' is the last single from our record. It’s also the last song on the record, because I feel it’s the most hopeful of the songs we have, and I didn’t want to end the album on a down note,” said guitarist/vocalist Ian Cruz.
“Most of the album was written, but there was a song that wasn’t working called “My Car” that was supposed to close the album. I knew we needed something fun, something where I wasn’t yelling, and the guitar was a little noodly. I don’t remember how I came up with the song title, but it was an instant classic when I showed Sean [Tarolli, drums] and Pat [Scheufelt, producer at I/O Detroit Studio].”
The single is about being away from home, physically and mentally. About being more invested in chasing dreams, than focusing on your family.
“I’d like to keep writing songs where I sing, I think, but every time we do this one live, it’s actually the hardest one to play. I can’t wait until the crowd knows the words so they can sing it for me.”
