Good or Bad, It Was Always Constant
The last three months have been quite a ride for Normal, IL's Mighty Ships. After signing with We're Trying Records, releasing their first album — The Coastal Midwest — and premiering their self-titled mini documentary, the band is stoked to release their first music video.
Mighty Ships' video for "Raincheck" — which was produced and directed by Victory Records' Alex Zarek — started out with serious ideas, but in the end it captured the guys' true personalities. "We had a lot of ideas floating around, but we just ended up goofing around our practice space," frontman Tyler Bachman said. "I don't think we could've asked for a better video."
The song itself — which describes a roller coaster relationship — is quite the opposite of the good time had in the video. "As I've mentioned before, the whole album is a transition over a year and the song was written when that certain relationship was pulling me in all different directions," Bachman said.
"Raincheck" can be downloaded — along with the entire The Coastal Midwest album — from our Bandcamp page.
