Self-Examination Defines I See Land.'s Newest Album
After a year of revisions and shake ups, I See Land. is back with their self-titled album – eight tracks that define self-examination.
The self-titled album – overall – is reflective of the changes the band has gone through as individuals and as a whole since the release of their previous album I’ll Probably Die Here. Through lineup changes and some big personal moments, I See Land. has gone back and embraced their DIY roots, and delivered an album done on their own terms; from the conception of the songs to the recording, mixing, and mastering process.
After delivering an album that felt rushed, incohesive, and undercooked, the band delivers a heavy sound that is radically different than their previous releases. This course correction was inspired by a variety of screamo artists like pageninetynine, Portraits of the Past, Saetia, and Suis la Lune, but stands alone as an original work that the band is excited about.
"This feels like a course correction for us," said frontman Austin Schaffer. "While this album is inspired by a variety of Screamo artists like pageninetynine, Portraits of the Past, Saetia, and Suis la Lune; we feel it stands alone as an original work. We spent months writing and refining the songs until they became something we were satisfied with."
