Scarlet Street – ‘Scarlet Street’

It’s been years in the making, but the day is finally here. Cincinnati’s Scarlet Street just released their debut, self-titled album – 10 songs outlining the way to healthy negativity.

Scarlet Street was created to take form of a caffeinated ball of negativity to be hurled at the sun,” said guitarist/vocalist Ben Seitz. “It’s a collection of songs that speak to despair in life, the moments that make you ask “why me?” or that make you angry at the way people are. It’s also self-aware, it realizes that being this negative is unhealthy, but admits that sometimes being negative is ok, maybe even necessary.”

The album runs a gamut of styles at moments, wearing inspiration on its sleeve but avoiding cliche’s and always being energetic.

“It’s the type of album that heals some wounds when turned up loud in the car on a particularly bad day, and that’s what we always strived for when making it.”
